Best Coast Guard (Navik GD, DB, Yantrik) Coaching in India: What a Batch Must Cover

What the Coast Guard CGEPT notice says about Navik and Yantrik entry and what a batch should cover.

Coast Guard enrolled-personnel entry (Navik General Duty, Navik Domestic Branch and Yantrik) runs through the Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test, or CGEPT: a one-hour computer-based test, then a physical fitness test, document checks and a medical. Because the paper is short and objective, the best Coast Guard coaching is the one that covers Class 12 Mathematics and Physics for Navik GD properly and builds your running. This page lists what the notice says.

Which posts are open and who can apply?

The advertisement for CGEPT batches 01/2027 and 02/2027 invites male and female Indian citizens, but not for every post. Navik (General Duty) is open to men and women. Navik (Domestic Branch), Hygienist-I and Yantrik are for men only.

Hygienist-IMatriculation or ITI or equivalentBorn 1 November 2002 to 1 October 200902/2027

The advertisement lists an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC and ST candidates. The vacancies it prints are tentative: its rows add up to 190 for batch 01/2027 and 175 for batch 02/2027. For Navik (General Duty) men, recruitment is zone-wise, and Uttarakhand falls in the North zone along with Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Chandigarh.

What are the stages of selection?

StageWhat happens
Stage IA computer-based examination of 100 questions, one mark each, bilingual (Hindi and English), objective type, lasting one hour. There is no negative marking. Passing marks are 40 for UR, EWS and OBC and 35 for SC and ST.
Stage IIAt a Coast Guard recruitment centre over one to two days: identity and biometric check, the Physical Fitness Test, a qualifying assessment and adaptability test, document verification and the recruitment medical.
Stage IIIAt INS Chilka, for those who stand in merit: identity check, document verification, pre-enrolment medical and submission of original documents and police verification forms.
Stage IVVerification of the original educational and other documents with the issuing Boards, universities or authorities.

Merit is based on the Stage I marks and on qualifying in every part of Stage II. The assessment test marks are used only to break ties, after age, where candidates have equal Stage I marks.

Physical Fitness TestMaleFemale
1.6 km run6 min 30 sec8 min
Squats2015
Push-ups1510
Bent-knee sit-ups1510

The four parts are done in continuity without a break; the advertisement says that any break leads to failure in the test. Practise them in one sequence, not one at a time.

What must a Coast Guard batch cover?

  • Class 12 Mathematics and Physics for Navik General Duty, and the Class 10 level for Navik Domestic Branch, with the syllabus taken from the portal rather than from a guess.
  • A one-hour, 100-question paper practised against the clock. With no negative marking, you can attempt every question, and the batch should teach you how.
  • The four-part fitness test practised in one unbroken run, to the male or female standard above.
  • Identity discipline. The advertisement says a live photograph is taken at registration and matched at every stage, that a left-thumb biometric is taken at Stage I, and that a candidate whose fingerprint cannot be captured because of mehndi or wax will not be allowed to appear.
  • Document readiness. Certificates must be issued on or before the closing date of the application and stay valid up to 31 December 2027, according to the advertisement, and a mismatch in name, date of birth or marks can cancel a candidature.

Demand for Coast Guard coaching is small compared with other entries, so you will find few real batches and many generic ones. Our approach is to cover it inside the Agniveer, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard course rather than sell it as a separate promise. Call or WhatsApp +91 70170 31757 for free counselling and we will tell you whether your qualification and date of birth fit the current notice.

What does the Coast Guard pay?

Enrolled personnel of the Indian Coast Guard are regular personnel, not Agniveers. Its pay page says that a Navik (General Duty) or Navik (Domestic Branch) starts at a basic pay of ₹21,700 (Pay Level 3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances, with promotion prospects up to Pradhan Adhikari at ₹47,600 (Pay Level 8). A Yantrik starts at ₹29,200 (Pay Level 5) plus Yantrik pay of ₹6,200. The page notes that pay and allowances can change with government directives.

What are the dates and the fee?

Applications for CGEPT 01/2027 and 02/2027 were accepted online through the Staff Selection Commission from 6 October 2026 to 21 October 2026. The fee is ₹550, and SC and ST candidates are exempt. The advertisement gives Stage I as early or mid November 2026, Stage II as the end of February 2027, and Stage III as early May 2027 for batch 01/2027 and mid October 2027 for batch 02/2027. All dates are tentative and the Coast Guard announces admit-card dates on the candidate dashboard.

Families come to Dehradun because it is home to the Indian Military Academy and has a settled student community. GS India Defence Academy offers residential classroom coaching with separate boys’ and girls’ hostels and a mess, and we do not run online classes. See the hostel and mess page and the fee structure.
