Free counselling for NDA, CDS, AFCAT, SSB, MNS and RIMC aspirants

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information GS India Defence Academy collects when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what choices you have. We have written it in plain language, because most people who read it are parents making a decision about their child’s education.

Last updated: 6 October 2026.

Who we are

GS India Defence Academy is a coaching academy at Street 1, Subharti Road, Nanda Ki Chowki, Lower Kolhupani, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248007. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “the academy” mean GS India Defence Academy. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“the DPDP Act”), the academy is the “Data Fiduciary” for the personal data described here, and you are the “Data Principal”.

The law we follow

We handle personal data in line with the DPDP Act and the rules made under it. The Act requires us to collect data only for a stated purpose, to ask for your consent, to keep data secure, to keep it no longer than needed and to give you ways to exercise your rights. This policy sets out how we do each of those things.

What information we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you.

Information you give us

When you fill in a form on this website, such as the free counselling form, a fee sheet request, a visit request, a scholarship test registration or an admission enquiry, we collect:

  • the name of the student or enquirer;
  • a mobile number;
  • the course you are interested in;
  • the student’s current class or qualification, where the form asks for it;
  • the city, where the form asks for it;
  • the page on which you submitted the form.

When you call or message us on WhatsApp, we also see the number you contact us from and whatever you choose to tell us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website we collect limited technical information:

  • Campaign information. If you arrive from an advertisement or a link with campaign tags, we store those tags in a cookie for up to 30 days, so that we know which source brought your enquiry.
  • A protected form of your IP address. We do not store your IP address in readable form. We keep only a salted, one-way hash, which we use to limit repeated submissions and to detect abuse.
  • Click events. When you press a call or WhatsApp button, we record that a click happened, along with the page and the type of device. We do not record who you are.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are used, where visitors come from and what kind of device they use. This helps us improve the website.

Why we use your information

We use personal data for these purposes:

  • to call or message you back about the course you asked about;
  • to share the fee sheet, the scholarship test date or a visit time that you requested;
  • to counsel you and your child about the right entry, batch and hostel arrangement;
  • to send our staff a notification so that your enquiry reaches the right person;
  • to keep our website secure and to prevent spam and repeated submissions;
  • to understand how the website is used and to improve it;
  • to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the details you give us in a form to advertise to other people.

When you submit a form, we ask for your consent to be contacted by call or WhatsApp about your enquiry, and we show the consent text beneath the form. We record which version of that text you agreed to, together with your submission.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. Tell us through the Contact page or on WhatsApp, and we will stop contacting you and delete or anonymise your enquiry as described below. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Students under 18

Many of our students are under 18. Under the DPDP Act, we need the consent of a parent or legal guardian before processing a child’s personal data. If the student is under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to submit the form or to give their number, and to contact us if they have questions.

We do not use the website to track or monitor the behaviour of children for advertising, and we do not direct advertising at children on this website.

Who we share your information with

We share personal data only with people who help us run the academy and the website, and only for the purposes above:

  • our staff, who contact you about your enquiry;
  • the service providers that host the website, deliver our emails and protect our forms from spam, including a spam-protection service that checks that a form is submitted by a person;
  • WhatsApp, if you contact us there, under its own terms;
  • Google, for website analytics, as described above.

These providers act on our instructions and are expected to keep data secure. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a lawful order from a court or authority.

How long we keep your information

We keep an enquiry for 24 months from the date you submit it. After that, a scheduled process anonymises the record, which removes your name and phone number and leaves only non-identifying information such as the course and the date. We then use the anonymised figures only for statistics.

If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it. If you take admission, the academy’s admission and fee records are kept under the terms that apply to enrolled students, and we will tell you what those are when you join.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to keep personal data safe. These include:

  • storing IP addresses only as salted hashes;
  • limiting access to enquiries to the staff who need them;
  • sending form data over an encrypted connection;
  • checking submissions for spam and abuse;
  • logging when staff notifications are sent so that no enquiry is lost.

No website or system is completely secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Some pages can show content from other sites, such as a map or a video. We try to load such content only when you choose to see it. Once you do, the other site may set its own cookies and collect its own data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Know and access. Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Correct and update. Ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete it.
  • Erase. Ask us to erase your data, unless we need to keep it by law.
  • Grievance redressal. Raise a complaint about how we handle your data and receive a response.

  • Withdraw consent. Take back the consent you gave.

How to make a request

To use any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page or message or call us on WhatsApp at +91 70170 31757. Please tell us your name, the mobile number you gave us and what you would like us to do. We may ask a question to confirm that the request comes from you, so that we do not give your information to someone else.

We acknowledge requests promptly and respond within the time that the law allows. If we cannot do what you ask, for example because we must keep a record by law, we will explain why.

If you are not satisfied

Please raise the matter with us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act, once you have used our grievance process.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. We will change the date at the top of the page when we do, and where a change is significant we will make it visible on the website. Please read it from time to time.
