Best Agniveer Coaching in India: What to Check Before You Join

A buyer's guide to Agniveer coaching: the stages each service tests and what a batch must cover.

The best Agniveer coaching in India is the one that prepares you for the exact written test, physical test and medical examination of the service you plan to join, and says plainly what it cannot control. Selection is decided by the Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard on merit, so no batch can sell you a seat. Use this page to check any batch before you pay, ours included.

What does each service actually test?

Parents often hear that all Agniveer entries are the same. They are not. Each service publishes its own notice, with its own papers, its own fitness standards and its own medical rules. Here is the structure each one states at present.

ServiceStages in the current noticesWhat a batch must cover
Army (Agniveer GD, Technical, Clerk/SKT, Tradesman, Women Military Police)An online Common Entrance Examination first. Shortlisted candidates then report for the Physical Fitness Test, Physical Measurement Test and medical examination at a recruitment rally. The 2026 CEE ran from 1 to 12 June 2026 across the categories.A paper at the level of your category (Class 8 or 10 for most soldier trades, Class 12 for Technical and Clerk), running, pull-ups, and early medical checks.
Navy (Agniveer SSR and MR)Stage I online examination and Stage II written examination, with the Physical Fitness Test and vision standards as mandatory conditions. SSR paper: 60 minutes, four sections, Class 12 standard. MR paper: 30 minutes, two sections, Class 10 standard.Science, Mathematics, English and General Awareness for SSR; Science and Mathematics plus General Awareness for MR; timed running and strength work; eyesight planning.
Air Force (Agniveervayu)Phase I online test (Science subjects: Physics, Mathematics and English in 60 minutes; Other than Science: English and Reasoning and General Awareness in 45 minutes). Phase II: Physical Fitness Test and two adaptability tests. Phase III: medical.CBSE Class 12 Physics, Mathematics and English for the science stream; English plus reasoning and general awareness for the other stream; a 1.6 km run and basic strength tests.
Coast Guard (Navik GD, Navik DB, Yantrik)Entry is through the Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test, not Agnipath. Stage I is a one-hour computer-based test of 100 questions. Stage II is the fitness test, an assessment test, document verification and medical. Stage III is held at INS Chilka.Class 12 Mathematics and Physics for Navik GD; Class 10 level for Navik DB; running and strength work; document discipline.

The physical bars differ too. The Navy and the Coast Guard both ask a male candidate for the 1.6 km run in 6 minutes 30 seconds, the Air Force allows 7 minutes, and the Army’s 2022-23 notification scored the run in time groups together with pull-ups. A batch that trains everyone to one common standard is not preparing you for your service.

How do you judge an Agniveer batch before you join?

Ask for these things in writing or on a visit. A serious batch will not mind being asked.

  • A paper-wise plan built from the notice of the service you will apply to, not a single generic syllabus for every entry.
  • A physical plan that matches that service’s own test, with timed practice, and honest advice if your height or eyesight may be a problem.
  • Regular tests in the real format, with every wrong answer reviewed. Negative marking applies in these papers, so accuracy matters as much as speed.
  • A clear statement of what the academy does and does not control. If anyone talks about a certain seat, walk away.
  • The fee, the duration and the refund terms before you pay. Ours are set out on the fee structure page.

Call or WhatsApp us on +91 70170 31757 for free counselling if you would like us to go through your qualification, your height and your eyesight and tell you which entries are realistic. We would rather say so on a call than after a year of preparation.

How do you avoid fake agents and “sure selection” claims?

The services say this themselves. In a press release on the July 2026 Mumbai rally, the Army Recruiting Office described recruitment as fair, transparent, merit-based and entirely computerised, and warned candidates against touts who claim they can secure a place. The Air Force advertisement for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 states that no bribe is required at any stage and that candidates should not fall for people posing as recruiting agents.

The Army’s Agnipath rally notification for 2022-23 put it in one line: recruitment into the Army is a free service, and candidates should not pay a bribe to anyone because selection is purely on merit. The only money the official process asks for is the application fee, paid online to the recruiting body. For Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 it was ₹550 plus 18% GST. For the Coast Guard’s CGEPT batches it is ₹550, with SC and ST candidates exempt. Read the fee clause of your own notice. Anyone who asks for more than that, in cash or through a personal account, is not part of the process.

Why do parents across India look at Dehradun?

Dehradun is home to the Indian Military Academy, and many families feel that a student preparing for the forces benefits from living in a town where the uniform is part of daily life. That is a reason to look, not a reason to enrol. What matters is what the batch does for your test.

GS India Defence Academy teaches in classrooms at Street 1, Subharti Road, Nanda Ki Chowki, Lower Kolhupani, Dehradun 248007. We do not run online classes. Students from other states can stay in our separate boys’ and girls’ hostels, which have a mess; see the hostel and mess page. Ask us for a visit, and compare what you see with the checklist above.

Agniveer coaching: common questions

FAQs

Questions parents ask us.

Can't find yours? Ask on WhatsApp; a counsellor usually replies within working hours.

Is coaching compulsory for Agniveer?

No. Anyone who meets the conditions in a notice can apply through the official portal. Coaching helps some students organise their preparation, but it does not change the selection process.

Which is better, Army, Navy or Air Force Agniveer?

That depends on your qualification, your fitness and your interest. The entries differ in education, age window, papers and physical standards, so compare them in the tables on this page and read the current notice of each.

Can a coaching centre assure selection?

No. Selection is made by the service on merit through its own stages. Treat any promise of a seat as a warning sign.

What fee do the services charge to apply?

The Air Force charged ₹550 plus 18% GST for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027. The Coast Guard's CGEPT batches charge ₹550, with SC and ST candidates exempt. Check the fee clause in your own notice.

Is the Coast Guard part of Agnipath?

No. Coast Guard enrolled personnel are recruited through the CGEPT. In June 2022 the Defence Minister approved a 10% reservation of job vacancies for Agniveers in the Indian Coast Guard, defence civilian posts and 16 defence public sector undertakings.

Do you offer online Agniveer classes?

No. Our coaching is classroom-based in Dehradun, with hostels for boys and girls and a mess.
