Agniveer ki taiyari kaise kare? Choose one service and one category first, because the papers differ. Then revise the textbooks of the class level the notice asks for, take timed tests on a screen, and build your running and strength on a weekly plan. Books matter less than regular tests and a body that is ready on the day of the rally.

Step 1: Which service and which category? (Pehle yeh tay karein)

Answer three questions before you open a single book. What is your Class 10 or Class 12 result, and in which subjects? What is your date of birth, and which notice’s age block does it fit? And how is your height and eyesight? The tables in our Agniveer Army eligibility guide and our best Agniveer coaching guide will place you quickly. Class 10 candidates look at Army General Duty and Tradesman, Navy MR and Coast Guard Navik DB. Class 12 candidates with Physics and Mathematics have the Navy SSR, the Air Force science stream and Navik GD. Class 12 candidates from any stream have the Air Force Other than Science stream and Army Clerk.

Which months matter in the Agniveer year?

The services do not recruit in one season. These are the 2026 dates from their own documents.

ServiceDates in 2026 (from the service’s own documents)
ArmyRegistration for the 2026 CEE opened on 13 February 2026, according to the Army Recruiting Office; the CEE ran from 1 to 12 June 2026; rallies followed, such as the Mumbai rally from 20 July 2026.
Air Force, Intake 01/2027Registration from 12 January to 1 February 2026 (later extended); online exam on 30 and 31 March 2026.
Air Force, Intake 02/2027Registration from 6 to 26 July 2026; online exam on 22 and 23 September 2026.
Coast Guard, CGEPT 01/2027 and 02/2027Applications from 6 to 21 October 2026; Stage I tentatively in early or mid November 2026.
NavyThe Navy’s login links show INET 2026 cycles. Dates are announced on joinindiannavy.gov.in.

The pattern repeats from year to year, but the exact dates do not, so treat last year’s dates as a rough guide to when to be ready.

Step 2: How should you study for the written test?

StreamWeeks 1 to 4Weeks 5 to 8Weeks 9 to 12
Class 10 level (Army General Duty, Tradesman, Navy MR, Navik DB)NCERT Mathematics and science of Classes 8 to 10; daily general knowledge reading.Topic-wise tests; reasoning practice; learn shortcuts for arithmetic.Full-length timed tests on a screen; review every wrong answer.
Class 12 Science (Navy SSR, Air Force science stream, Army Technical, Navik GD)Class 11 and 12 Physics and Mathematics from NCERT; English grammar.Chapter tests; numerical practice for Physics; English comprehension.Full tests. For the Air Force, practise 70 questions in 60 minutes; for the Navy SSR, four sections in 60 minutes.
Any stream (Air Force Other than Science, Army Clerk)English grammar and comprehension; reasoning basics.Reasoning and general awareness practice; current affairs notes.Full tests. For the Air Force, 50 questions in 45 minutes.

Which books should you buy?

No book is official. The services publish notices, not textbooks. The sensible order is NCERT for your class level first, then one practice book per subject, and then the model papers the services themselves put out. The Navy lists practice papers for SSR and MR on its Agniveer pages, and the Air Force carries a mock test link on its Agniveervayu page. Prefer a book whose edition is recent, and put it down if its pattern does not match the paper described in your notice, because many guides still print patterns from earlier cycles.

Step 3: How do you build running and strength?

Three or four running days a week and two strength days is enough for most beginners to see progress in a month. Build a base with easy jogging, add one day of short fast repeats, and time a full 1.6 km once a week. Practise pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups and squats in small sets, and increase gradually. The test you train for depends on the service: the Navy and the Coast Guard ask a man for the run in 6 minutes 30 seconds, the Air Force in 7 minutes, and the Army scores it in groups. Our Army physical test guide has the week-by-week plan. See a doctor if you have any health concern, and rest when something hurts.

Agniveer ki taiyari kaise kare, girls ke liye?

Girls can prepare for several entries. The Army’s 2026 CEE includes Agniveer General Duty (Women Military Police), the Air Force advertisement invites unmarried male and female candidates, and the Coast Guard’s Navik General Duty is open to women. The fitness bars for women are lower in time and number but still real: the Navy and the Coast Guard ask for the 1.6 km run in 8 minutes with 15 squats, 10 push-ups and 10 sit-ups, and the Air Force asks for the run within 8 minutes, 10 sit-ups and 15 squats. Start the run and the strength routine early, and check the height rule of your notice.

What mistakes cost candidates the most?

  • Preparing for a paper that is not yours. An Army General Duty candidate and an Air Force science candidate need different material.
  • Leaving the medical for the end. Eyesight, dental points and height rules are in the notices, so check them at the start.
  • Collecting certificates late. A missing domicile, caste or character certificate can stop you at the rally.
  • Paying an agent. The Army’s own notice calls recruitment a free service and warns against touts, and the Air Force says no bribe is needed at any stage.
  • Skipping on-screen practice. The Army CEE, the Navy’s stage I, the Air Force Phase I and the Coast Guard Stage I are all computer-based.

Is coaching necessary for Agniveer?

No. Anyone who meets the conditions can apply. Many students use a batch to keep a schedule, but the services select on merit through their own stages.

Agniveer ki taiyari kitne mahine pehle shuru karni chahiye?

Start at least six months before the test you are aiming at. The Army CEE is held in June and the Air Force in March and September, so work back from the date in the notice.

Can I prepare for the Army, Navy and Air Force together?

The fitness work overlaps, and Class 12 Mathematics helps with several papers. The papers differ, so give each its own tests in the last month.

Which Agniveer book is best?

No book is official. Use NCERT for your class level, one practice book per subject, and the model papers the Navy and Air Force publish.

Can girls prepare for Agniveer?

Yes. The Army has an Agniveer General Duty (Women Military Police) category, and the Air Force and Coast Guard Navik General Duty invite women as well.

Do you offer online Agniveer classes?

No. Our coaching is classroom-based in Dehradun, with hostels for boys and girls and a mess.
