A website about defence careers is full of powerful pictures: soldiers, ships, aircraft, parades. It is easy to use them carelessly and let a visitor believe they show the academy’s own students or facilities. We do not want to do that. This page tells you where our images come from and how we credit any image that is not the academy’s own.

The short version is this. The photographs of classrooms, activities, visits and batches are taken from GS India Defence Academy’s own website and records. Some were taken at programmes run with an associated school. Stock images of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are credited individually below, and a stock image is never described as our students, our trainers or our premises.

Why we publish image credits

Credits do three jobs. They respect the people who made the pictures. They keep us honest with parents, because a photograph of a cadet on parade is not evidence that the cadet studied with us. And they make it easy for you to ask about any image on the site and get a straight answer.

Defence images carry extra responsibility. Photographs of serving personnel, ships, aircraft and parades belong to the forces, to photographers or to agencies, and the people in them have not agreed to endorse a private coaching academy. We treat them accordingly.

Photographs from GS India Defence Academy

The following images are taken from GS India Defence Academy’s own website and records, and show its batches, classrooms and visits. Captions say who a picture shows where that matters, and we correct a caption if we find it is wrong.

Pictures that show serving personnel, such as the unit visit and the staff with a serving officer, show them because they met our students or staff during a visit. They do not mean that the Army or any other service endorses the academy.

Stock images of the Army, Navy and Air Force

We illustrate some pages about service entries with licensed stock photographs of the Army, Navy and Air Force, because we cannot photograph a warship or a fighter aircraft ourselves. We follow these rules:

  • The credit appears under the picture. A small line gives the photographer or agency and the licence.
  • The credit is repeated here. Every stock image is listed on this page, with its author, source and licence.
  • The caption is truthful. A stock photograph is never described as our students, our trainers, our alumni or our premises.
  • We check the licence. We use an image only when its licence allows commercial use on a website, and we follow its attribution terms.

The full list follows, with the author, licence and source of each photograph.

Stock photographs

Every stock image of the Army, Navy and Air Force that appears on this website is listed below, with its author, its licence and a link to its source page on Wikimedia Commons. Each file was resized and compressed for the web, and nothing else was changed.

Ten of the twelve photographs were released by the Indian armed forces or the Government of India under the Government Open Data License – India (GODL-India), which permits commercial use as long as the source is acknowledged and nobody suggests that the provider endorses the user. One is a public-domain work of the United States Army, and one is released by its photographer under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence.

The Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, the Government of India and the other bodies named below have not endorsed GS India Defence Academy. None of these photographs shows our students, our trainers or our premises.

Videos and reels

Short videos of classes, training and visits are published by the academy on the Gallery page. If we ever use a licensed stock clip, it is credited on this page and in the video caption in the same way as a stock photograph.

Logos, emblems and the names of the services

We use the names of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, the National Defence Academy, the Indian Military Academy and similar bodies only to say what the academy prepares students for. GS India Defence Academy is a private coaching academy. It is not part of, and is not endorsed by, any of these institutions or by the Union Public Service Commission or any government body.

We do not reproduce service crests or emblems as our own, and we do not use them in a way that suggests an official link.

People in our photographs

Many of our photographs show students, including young students, and staff. We treat that seriously.

  • We do not publish a student’s name beside a photograph unless the student, or a parent for a student under 18, has agreed.
  • If you or your child appears in a picture on this website and you would like it removed, tell us and we will take it down. See the instructions below.

Descriptions and accessibility

Every meaningful image on this website has a text description for visitors who use screen readers, and the description says what the picture shows rather than making a claim. For example, a picture of a river rafting camp is described as students during an adventure camp, not as a selection or a result.

Using our photographs

The academy’s photographs are the academy’s property. Please do not copy them to other websites, advertisements or social media pages without our permission. If you would like to use one, for example for a news story about a visit, ask us first through the Contact page or on WhatsApp at +91 70170 31757.

Tell us if a credit is missing or wrong

We try to be exact, but mistakes happen. If you believe an image on this website is credited incorrectly, is not credited, or should not appear, please tell us. Include the page address, a description of the picture and what you would like us to do. We will check the request and respond, and we will correct, credit or remove the image where that is the right outcome.

You can reach us:

  • through the Contact page;
  • on WhatsApp or by phone at +91 70170 31757.

How we keep this page current

This page was last updated on 11 October 2026. We update it whenever we add a stock photograph, a licensed video or a new set of academy photographs. If you notice an image that is missing from the list, tell us and we will add it.

What this means when you read the rest of the site

When you browse the academy’s pages, you can apply a simple test. If a photograph shows classrooms, activities, visits or batches, it comes from the academy’s own website and records. If it shows a ship, an aircraft or a parade, and it has a credit line, it is a licensed image that illustrates the career, not the academy. If there is no credit line and you are unsure, ask us. We would rather answer a question about a photograph than have you wonder.

For the other things we publish openly, see the Fee Structure page for what each course costs, the Results page for how we verify selections, and the Hostel and Mess page for what to check before a student moves in.
