GS India Defence Academy offers classroom coaching in Dehradun for the main entries into the armed forces and the schools that prepare for them. Each course follows its own syllabus, and the courses that lead to an officer entry include preparation for the stage that most students overlook, the SSB interview. All courses are taught in the classroom in Dehradun. We do not run online classes. Outstation students can stay in the separate boys’ and girls’ hostels, and Dehradun students can attend as day students. Fees for every course are published on the Fee Structure page.

Courses after Class 10 and Class 12
NDA coaching
The NDA course is for students who have completed or are about to complete Class 12 and want to join the National Defence Academy. It combines Mathematics and General Ability classes with SSB preparation and fitness in a single programme. Students can choose one-year, six-month and four-month durations.
NDA Foundation with schooling
The NDA Foundation course starts after Class 10. It combines Class 11 and 12 schooling with NDA preparation from the first day, so students reach the NDA exam trained rather than rushed. It is a residential course, and its fee covers schooling, hostel and mess.
NDA coaching for girls

NDA crash course
The crash course is a one-month, focused programme for students who already have a base and want revision, practice and SSB orientation close to the exam. It is not a substitute for a longer course for a student who is starting from scratch.
Courses for graduates
CDS coaching and CDS Foundation
The CDS course is for graduates and final-year students aiming at the Indian Military Academy, the Indian Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and the Officers Training Academy. It covers English, General Knowledge and Mathematics, and prepares students for the SSB. The CDS Foundation course suits students who want a longer lead-in.
AFCAT coaching
The AFCAT course prepares graduates for the Air Force Common Admission Test and the Air Force Selection Board that follows, across the flying and ground duty branches. The fee rows match those for CDS.
SSB interview training
The SSB course is a short batch for candidates who already hold a call letter. It follows the five-day board procedure: screening, psychology tests, group tasks, personal interview and conference. It can be taken with or without hostel, and is also the coaching we provide for Army TES and Navy technical entries.
Courses for women and for technical and maritime careers
MNS coaching
The Military Nursing Service course is for women who have completed Class 12 with a science background and want to study nursing at the armed forces’ nursing colleges. The fee for this course is shared at counselling.
Army TES and Navy technical entries

Courses for younger students and for other forces
RIMC, RMS and Sainik School
These are school-level entries, and preparation starts early. The RIMC course prepares students for Rashtriya Indian Military College, the RMS course for the Rashtriya Military Schools, and the Sainik School course for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination. Each can be followed by a one-month crash course close to the exam.
Agniveer, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard
The Agniveer course covers the written test, fitness and medical preparation for entry into the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard at the soldier and sailor level. A one-month crash course is also available.
What every course shares
The courses differ in syllabus, but they share the way we run the academy.
- Classroom teaching. Every course is taught in a classroom in Dehradun.
- SSB preparation from the first month. Psychology tests, group tasks and interview practice run alongside the written classes.
- Physical training. Study, physical training and SSB practice form the core of every programme. Ask for the current timetable at counselling.
- Hostels for boys and girls. Boys and girls live in separate hostels, and a mess is run for residents.
- Published fees. Tuition, hostel and mess, registration and the refundable security are listed openly.
Choosing between two courses
Students often stand between two doors, such as the NDA and the CDS, or the NDA Foundation course and Class 11 at a local school. A few questions usually settle it.
- How old is the student, and what is the next entry they can sit? An exam that is two years away needs a different plan from one that is six months away.
- How strong is the base in Mathematics and English? A student who is behind benefits from a longer course.
- Is the family relocating? If so, the hostel and the fee for the whole course should be planned together.
- How does the student feel about the SSB? Interview confidence takes months to build, so it should shape the choice of course.

For most Class 12 students the NDA course is the natural choice. Students interested in technical or maritime careers may also look at the Army TES, Navy technical, IMU CET or Merchant Navy pages, and women interested in nursing can look at MNS.
Can my child begin right after Class 10?
Yes, through the NDA Foundation course, which combines Class 11 and 12 schooling with NDA preparation, or through the Agniveer course for soldier and sailor entries.
Do all courses include SSB preparation?
SSB preparation is part of every course that leads to an officer entry, and the SSB course is also available on its own for candidates who hold a call letter.
