GS India Defence Academy runs a scholarship test for students who would like to be considered for a fee concession on one of its courses. This page explains how to register your interest and what to ask before you take part. We have chosen not to print concession amounts or test dates on a web page, because they should be confirmed to each family directly and in writing.
What the scholarship test is
The scholarship test is a way for students to be considered for a concession on the fees of a GS India course. The date, the format, the venue, the courses it applies to and anything that is offered are confirmed to each family by a counsellor, and you should ask for them in writing.
How to register your interest
- Share your details. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page with the student’s name, your mobile number and the course your child is considering.
- Receive a call. A counsellor will call you with the next test date, the format and where to report.
- Ask for the rules in writing. Before you take the test, ask for the terms in writing, including how the concession is decided.
- Receive the outcome in writing. If a concession applies, the amount, the course it applies to and any conditions are confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
What to ask before you take the test
A scholarship is only as good as its terms. Whichever academy you consider, ask these questions and ask for the answers in writing.
- Which courses and durations does the concession apply to?
- Is it a reduction in tuition, or does it also cover the hostel?
- Does the concession depend on a particular score, and who sets it?
- Are there conditions such as attendance, a minimum duration or a lock-in?
- What happens to the concession if the student withdraws?
Which courses to consider
Ask the counsellor which of our courses the test applies to. You can compare every course on our Courses page, and see the published tuition, hostel and registration charges on the Fee Structure page. If you are not sure which course your child needs, the eligibility checker gives a first answer.
Prepare calmly
There is no need to cram. A test like this is an honest look at where a student is today. We suggest that students come rested, read the instructions carefully, and treat the day as practice for the timed conditions of real exams. Parents can help by keeping the morning calm and by not turning the test into a verdict on their child.
